Mitch Medina posted a triple-double, and the Belchertown boys basketball team topped Turners Falls, 79-75, Tuesday in Belchertown.
Medina scored 30 points with 14 rebounds and 10 assists as the Orioles (8-5) held off a fourth-quarter push. Nolan Vogel added 19 points in the win for the Orioles, while Mike Laughner contributed 11.
Medina needs 22 points for 1,000 in his career. Belchertown plays at Smith Academy, Thursday at 7 p.m.
Easthampton 75, South Hadley 48 — An impressive offensive attack spearheaded by Ant Moynihan’s 23 points resulted in a dominant home win for the Eagles (6-4). The Tigers were led by Keith Harris (4-7), who had 11 points in the loss.
Agawam 56, Belchertown 30 — The Orioles (4-9) fell despite 12 points from Samantha Birks and eight points from Elise Pikul.
Athol 56, Easthampton 36 — Lily Pioli had 16 points and Juli Korza had 12 in a road loss for the Eagles (4-6).
Granby 38, Amherst Regional 26 — The Rams (7-4) charged past the Hurricanes (4-9) behind 15 points from Nora Young. Mallory Beauregard added 13 points, and Julia Frappier had 10 for Granby.
Erin Klaes led Amherst with nine points. Maddie Shea had eight, including two 3-pointers.
Central 68, Northampton 41 — Despite a 14-point, 10-rebound performance from Emma Tanner, the Blue Devils (11-1) suffered their first setback of the season with the loss in Springfield.
Hopkins Academy 73, Pope Francis 55 — Samantha Jenks put up a career-high 40 points in a home win.
The Golden Hawks (5-7) also received 11 points from Thea Hanscom and made 10 3-pointers as a team.
Jenks had just set a career high of 30 points against Mohawk on Saturday.
Smith Vocational 42, Commerce 30 — Sydney Cyr hit a school-record six 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 24 points to go along with 19 rebounds and nine blocks for the Vikings (4-8).
Hampshire Regional 58, South Hadley 53 — A five-point edge at the end of the third quarter proved to be the difference, as the Raiders (12-1, 1-0 Suburban) squeaked by the Tigers (8-3, 1-1).
Katelyn Pickuna’s 29 points for the Raiders bested Mia Kelly’s 20 points for the Tigers. Alexa Blaney added 17 for South Hadley, while Caroline O’Connor scored 16.
Frontier Regional 40, Southwick 36 — Ella Deane drained four 3-pointers as part of a 15-point performance for the Red Hawks (9-3) in a tight win.
Gateway 55, Westfield Tech 15 — Becca Herman’s 19 points and Grace Van Buren’s 10 led the Gators (7-6, 7-0 Tri-County South) to the victory.
Mahar 52, Smith Academy 33 — Victoria Smiarowski and Mary Whalen scored eight points each, but the Falcons (8-5) lost on the road.
