Four new railway tracks to be laid by 2021: Girish Pillai

The work of railway track laying would be completed by the year 2021 with the laying of  four new railway tracks completing by that time. The electrification work on 415 km stretch has been started and the  construction of two flyover bridges has been completed, said General Manager of West Central Railway Girish Pillai during meeting with Members of Parliament of Bhopal division on Tuesday.

Pillai said that with the approval of 27 foot-over bridges at railway stations in the division all 78 railway stations would have foot over bridges.

At Bhopal railway station mechanized laundry, three lifts, 2 escalators, flooring work at platform number -6, radio taxi booth are proposed. Besides, the facilities of two escalators at Itarsi railway station, extension of cover over shade at platform 4/5 and 6/7 towards Khandwa end of platform would soon be available.

DMR Bhopal division Shobhan Choudhary said that under the digital India, mission digital payment is encouraged and kiosk providing card have been established by SBI and IRTCT.

Bhopal railway station would be the first railway station across the country which will have complete health service including a trained doctor, assistance nurse and ambulance round the clock for passengers.

MP from Bhopal constituency Alok Sanjar gave suggestions regarding developing of Nishatpura railway station as junction, extension of route of Kamayani express till Chhapra, upgradation of Bairagarh railway station and construction of booth at waiting halls under Amrutam scheme.

Suggestions were also put forth by Rajgarh MP Roadmal Nagar, Sagar MP Laxmi Narayan Yadav and Dewas MP Manohar Untwal regarding better facilities at the railway stations and new railway tracks for few regions.
