Jan. 23 — To the Editor:

This is a response to the facetious letter on Monday, Jan. 22 from Mark Brighton about assuming that all of us marching and protesting Trump's actions and behavior will return our tax windfall to the government. ("Will women marchers keep tax windfalls?").

I would be more than happy to return my temporary tax decrease, as long as it doesn't go into the pockets of the 1 percent who are really benefiting from their permanent tax decrease and is used instead for health care, education, housing and food for those who really need some relief. How does the Republican Party think they are going to get away with what they are up to?

I ask everyone who is not happy with the direction the country is going in to find two people in our community who usually don't vote and bring them to the polls. The mid-term elections are the time for us to to be loud and clear about our discontent.
