With just two weeks remaining in the girls basketball regular season, several of the area's best teams are starting to peak.
Spruce Creek, Father Lopez, Flagler Palm Coast and Atlantic have seemingly found their groove, carrying significant winning streaks into the end of January.
The Hawks have maintained the No. 1 position for all but one week in 2017-18, and they are again perched atop the poll. Atlantic jumped Mainland thanks to Friday's crucial 60-56 head-to-head win away from home.
1. Spruce Creek (15-4)
The Hawks are simply on a tear at the moment, picking up a pair of neutral-site wins in Winter Haven against Miami Norland and Lakeland Kathleen. That's now eight straight victories for Spruce Creek since the calendar rolled over into 2018.
Guards Peryonna Sylvester and Jayla Adams are both averaging double-figures and will be up for Player of the Year consideration.
Spruce Creek concludes its district schedule Wednesday against winless Jacksonville Mandarin before weekend matchups with Ocala West Port and Mainland.

2. Father Lopez (18-2)
Speaking of winning streaks, the Green Wave has defeated its last 10 opponents, all but one by a margin of at least 10 points.
Taylor Williams contributed 35 points and 12 steals in Father Lopez's weekend wins against Kathleen and Naples Barron Collier. Gabby Watson turned in a season-high 20 points last Wednesday against Seabreeze.
Only two teams stand in the way of an unbeaten District 5-7A regular season for the Green Wave — New Smyrna Beach and Atlantic.

3. Flagler Palm Coast (14-6)
Don't look now, but the Bulldogs have strung together four straight wins as well.
FPC hammered Mayo Lafayette, 71-38, in Winter Haven behind nine 3-pointers and Skye Green's double-double (20 points, 11 rebounds). It will look to keep momentum rolling with games against New Smyrna Beach and Middleburg over the next week.

4. Atlantic (16-4)
The Sharks moved in front of Mainland not only in the Fab 5, but in the District 5-7A standings as well with Friday's 50-46 result.
Da'Jhai White led all scorers with 16 points, while Sha'Kawanza Brown filled the stat sheet with 10 points, nine assists, six steals and two blocks. Atlantic can wrap up the No. 2 seed with either a win in Wednesday's rematch, or against Father Lopez at the end of the week.

5. Mainland (14-5)
While the Bucs slipped at home to Atlantic, they easily handled Titusville and Pine Ridge. Three Bucs starters finished in double figures against Titusville — Isys Grady (16 points), Leesha Henry (15) and Dnajah Smith (12).
Mainland finishes the season with a tough five-game stretch — road trips to Atlantic, Spruce Creek and Lyman, coupled with home games with Calvary Christian and Orlando Christian Prep.
