Explosion rocks Jalalabad city, sporadic gunfire continue

An explosion was heard in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

There are no reports regarding the type of the blast but preliminary reports indicate the incident has taken place in the vicinity of the 3rd police district of the city.

There are also no reports regarding the casualties yet but the eyewitnesses are saying that a sporadic gunfire can also be heard from the vicinity of the explosion.

There are reports that a group of insurgents have launched a coordinated attack and clashes are underway near a non-governmental organization.
