Isaac McSorley had 16 steals and the New London defense held Cardinal scoreless in the second and third quarters on the way to a 71-9 SEI Superconference South Division win at New London Tuesday night.
Four Tigers reached double figures in their 13th victory in 16 games. Tyler Henecke and Grant Swanson each scored 13 points. McSorley and Keontae Luckett each had 10 points. Mason Porter scored nine and Shae Summerfield added eight. The New London defense had 33 steals.
New London plays Central Lee at Donnellson on Friday.
Wapello 70, Mediapolis 50
Wapello High School ran its boys basketball winning streak to eight games with a North Division win over Mediapolis at Wapello.
The Indians' Keaton Mitchell led all scorers with 20 points. Trenton Massner scored 16, Logan Belzer had 12 and Sam Short and Gage Witte each added nine points. Ben Wolgemuth paced Mediapolis with 16 points. Will Schroeder scored 11 and Nick Ensminger and Brady Pfeiff each added eight.
Wapello (14-1) plays at Lone Tree Friday. Mediapolis (5-9) host Highland Friday.
Central Lee 72, Holy Trinity 42
Evan Doyle's double double led the Hawks to a South Division victory over Holy Trinity at Fort Madison.
Doyle finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Isaac Moeller finished with 14 points and seven assists. Arron Wills added 10 points. Reed Fehseke and Matt Hellige each scored 12 points to lead Holy Trinity.
Central Lee (11-4) hosts New London Friday. Holy Trinity (3-13) hosts Danville Friday.
West Hancock 72, Keokuk 39
Drake Hammel and Logan Dorethy combined for 44 points to lead the Titans past Keokuk at Warsaw, Illinois.
Hammel had a game-high 24 points and Dorethy added 20. Anthony Potratz and Isaiah Seay each scored 11 points for Keokuk.
Keokuk (3-13) hosts Washington Friday.
IMS 67, W-MU 22
Iowa Mennonite School coasted to a North Division win at Winfield-Mount Union.
Trevor Leyden led IMS (13-2) with 15 points. Cole Ours and Mitchell Schmieder each scored nine. BJ Rodgers paced Winfield-Mount Union with nine points and Cody McCreight added six.
Winfield-Mount Union (2-14) plays Louisa-Muscatine at Letts on Friday.
L-M 60, Columbus 42
Louisa-Muscatine's balanced attack took a North Division win at Columbus Junction.
The Falcons' Zack Bieri, Karson Cantrell and Brady Walker each scored 11 points. Dawson Munday had nine and Brandon Burmeister added eight.
Columbus's Tommy Pretz led all scorers with 14. Chance Colby scored nine and Chepo Cardenas added eight.
Louisa-Muscatine (8-8) hosts Winfield-Mount Union Friday. Columbus (0-16) plays Pekin at Packwood on Friday.
Pleasant Valley 70, Burlington 27
The Grayhounds suffered a home loss in Mississippi Athletic Conference play to the Spartans.
BOYS SWIMMING
BHS 92, Central 78
Burlington High School won just three events, but won the team title in a dual at Davenport Central.
The Grayhounds' Niles Siefken won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:23.46 and and Conner Groen finished second 2:25.13. Josh Gulick won the 100 butterfly in 57.89 seconds. The Burlington quartet of Matthew Rowland, Gulick, Siefken and Blake Wyrick won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:36.57.
Burlington had four other second place finishes — Landon Duerre in 200 freestyle, Rowland in 50 freestyle, Jacob Ventertloth in 500 freestyle and 200 medley relay team of Jacob Mohrfeld, Rowland, Gulick and Wyrick.
Burlington also won the junior varsity meet, 75-31. Winning events for Burlington were Nieses in 200 freestyle, Hillyer in 50 freestyle, Hellman in 100 butterfly, Trimble in 100 backstroke, Kamrath in 100 breatstroke and the 200 medlay and 200 freestyle relays.

Fort Madison 61, Fairfield 18
The Bloodhounds recorded eight falls in rolling by the Trojans in a Southeast Conference dual.
Fort Madison's Nathan Steffensmeier (132 pounds), Aaron Steffensmeier (145), Bryce Britton (152) Harlan Steffensmeier (160), Austin Haas (170), Lennon Barker (182), Alex Lauber (195) and Dayne Cordray each pinned his opponent. Elton Kruse (106) won in sudden victory and Ryan Steffensmeier won a major decision.
Washington 45, Mount Pleasant 23
Washington lost just one of the first 10 matches and coasted to a Southeast Conference dual victory at Mount Pleasant.
Two Mount Pleasant wrestlers won by fall. Tyler Raub (1260 pinned Joey Labelle in 5:50 and Brayden Ackles (113) pinned Brennan Murphy in 3:15. The Panthers' Corbin Broeker won a technical fall at 106 pounds and Dalton Bass won a forfeight at 220.
Van Buren wins 1 of 3
Van Buren beat Central Decatur 30-24, but lost to PCM 72-7 and to Moravia 46-24.
Quentin Story and Matthew Housh each picked up two wins for the Warriors. Story had a decision and major decision at 132 pounds. Housh (106) won on a decision and a fall. Connor Helling won a forfeit and a fall at 195 and 182 pounds. Aidan Franklin won a forfeit and decision at 160 and 152 pounds. Tayton Bartholomew (170) won to forfeits.
WACO sweeps, Bulldogs 1-1
WACO swept a double dual, beating Mediapolis 42-30 and Cardinal 51-18.
Mediapolis topped Cardinal 39-9.
WACO had six double winners. Jalen Collens (120 pounds), Jaden Williams (126), Jason Sammons (182-195) and Cody Crawford (285) each won a fall and a forfeit. Chancey Miller (170) and Brody Hesser (220) each won two forfeit.
Mediapolis 160-pounder Brennan Swafford pinned both of his opponents. Hunter Aney (152) won on a fall and a forfeit. Jordan Riherd (113), Reese Thorburg (132) and Daryun Kreft (138) each won a forfeit and a decision.
