Beloved mother and grandmother

THOMASTON – Norma Hallie (Daniels) Hopkins, 86, passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan. 23, 2018, at Apple Rehabilitation in Watertown.

Norma was born May 2, 1931, in Waterbury, daughter of the late William and Hallie (Ireland) Daniels. A resident of Thomaston for more than 35 years, she had been a member of the former First United Methodist Church and had been employed at Rexam Manufacturing for 23 years.

She is survived by five sons, John Lago of Bethlehem, Billy Lago of Massachusetts, Charles Michalack and his wife Anna, of Meriden, Jody Simpson and his wife Roxanna, of Torrington, and Scott Simpson and his wife Mary, of Torrington; one daughter, Bonnie Lee Simpson and her husband Phillip Holigan, of Thomaston; two sisters, Betty McNichols of Tennessee and Bonnie Doody of Naugatuck; her best friend, Ginger Butler; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Lori Michalack; two brothers; Harry and Phillip Daniels; and her sister, Mary Lee Coon.

Funeral services will be held on Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the spring.
