WATERBURY – Catherine (Triantafillos) Symons, 90, widow of Edward Symons, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at the Village at East Farms.
She was born in Waterbury on Oct. 30, 1927, daughter of the late Stavros and Lemonia (Manalou) Triantafillos. A lifelong resident of Waterbury, Catherine retired from Anaconda Brass after almost 50 years of service. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
She enjoyed traveling, sewing, theater, music, museums and spending time with her family and friends. Catherine also had an extensive love of gardening.
She is survived by her brother, Manolis (Steve) Triantafillos of Florida; her sister, Despina Hallock of Waterbury; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Caporaso and Dr. Sookan for the kind and compassionate care given to Catherine during her illness.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 N. Main St., Naugatuck, followed by a Trisagion service to begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
