| | BHUBANESWAR | in Bhubaneswar

The Odisha Dalit Adhikar Manch on Tuesday blamed the State Government for suicide of the Kunduli gangrape victim stating that the girl took the extreme step as the State Government delayed in giving justice to her.

The Manch too expressed deep grief over the incident.

“From the incident of the Kundli rape victim committing suicide, it has been clear that the Home Department, SC and ST Development Department and Woman and Child Development Department have no accountability towards Dalits. As the victim was poor and belong to an underdeveloped area, she was deprived of justice,” alleged Manch members.

They demanded that the Government take steps to find out the culprits and punish them soon. Besides, they demanded adequate compensation be given to the family.

Manch State coordinator Prashant Mallick, advisor Madhusudan Yadav, committee member Kamaksha Prasad Nayak, Mamata Sethi, Kabita Bhoi, Rita Mallick, Rajib Nayak and Prasanna Mallick expressed deep grief and made these demands.
