Term of CoI probing Dalit youth’s death extended

The term of the Commission of Inquiry (CoI) probing the death of Dalit youth E. Ilavarasan in Dharmapuri district on July 4, 2013, has been extended by another three months. A notification to this effect was issued by the government earlier this month. It may be recalled that the youth was found dead along the railway track, following tension between two communities in the area over his marriage with a caste Hindu girl.
