Haryana police arrests Govt employees

Haryana Police on Tuesday arrested four accused including an Inspector of Excise and Taxation Department, Junior Engineer of Power Utilities, SPO of Police Station Bhiwani City and a resident of Sonipat, for taking bribe of Rs 24,800 in lieu of allowing an overloaded truck to pass through a check post in Bhiwani.

A truck driver had made a complaint to the police that overloaded trucks were being allowed to pass by the officers posted at the check post in lieu of money, said a spokesman of the Police Department.

Following the information, the police raided the check post where overloaded trucks were checked, said he.

He said that the accused included Amar Singh, Inspector of Excise and Taxation Department, Rajbir, Junior Engineer of Power Utilities, Pawan, who is SPO of Police Station Bhiwani City and Satyanarayan, a resident of Sonipat. The accused Amar Singh was arrested red-handed with Rs 6,500, Rajbir with Rs 10,800, Pawan with Rs 3,000 and Satyanarayan with Rs 4,500, added the spokesman.
