Shaheen Jafargholi, 21, who plays schoolboy Shakil Kazemi in the BBC soap may be unlucky in love on screen, but the actor seems to have a blossoming romance with his former co-star Amy Leigh Hickman 20, who played troublesome Linzi Bragg from 2016 to 2017.

The pair, who are believed to have met on the soap, have shared multiple selfies over the past year on their social media accounts of them enjoying days and nights out together. 

Earlier today, the actress posted a birthday message to Shaheen via her Instagram account.

She uploaded a picture of the pair sat on a yellow box, showing her smiling for the camera as Shaheen gave a blank expression.

She wrote: "Happy 21st birthday to my everything. Every day I tell myself how lucky I am to have you.

"You make me more and more proud every day. Love you forever."

Last year, Amy shared a picture of the duo laughing alongside Faye Tozer, 42, from Steps.

She also uploaded a picture of the pair dressed in colour coordinated outfits at an event where she captioned the post with a love heart emoji. 

Back in September the actor posted a sweet tribute to his girlfriend on her 20th birthday.

He shared a picture of the pair enjoying a night out with the caption: “20 club, happy birthday.”

Amy appeared on the soap as Linzi for a year and her character is best remembered for having a romance with Jay Brown (Jamie Northwick).

The schoolgirl lied to Jay about her name and age, and her lie was soon discovered when he bumped into her at Walford High School.

Her lie led to Jay being punished for having a relationship with the 14-year-old girl and he was later put onto the Sex Offenders register for five years.

Shaheen, who also appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2009, is best known for his character's fling with his co-star Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) on the soap. 

The pair dated last year before they parted ways when Bex showed reluctance to sleep with him.
