Additional crashes on County Road 512, where traffic is being rerouted from Interstate 95, is causing delays on the detour road, according to Fellsmere police.
Residents are being urged to avoid the area if possible.
The five-vehicle fatal crash on northbound I-95 that occurred early Tuesday continues to be investigated.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal crash on northbound Interstate 95 in Fellsmere, just north of Fellsmere Road near the Indian River-Brevard County line.
Troopers responded to the five-vehicle crash just before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. One of the vehicles involved is a tractor-trailer, according to FHP officials.
All traffic on northbound I-95 is being diverted off the highway at Fellsmere Road and rerouted from Fellsmere to Malabar Road by way of Babcock Street.
