It’s a matter of great happiness for the film’s director, lead actors and everyone related to it, that the film is finally seeing the light of the day after being put through so much. Four states–Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat had banned the film but the makers challenged the ban at the Supreme court, following which the apex court ruled the case in Padmaavat’s favour, ordering the states to screen the film while making sure that no law and order situation that takes place. Rajasthan and MP still went ahead and requested the apex court to reconsider the decision. Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra, in a statement with a leading news daily said, “It’s an order, better abide by it. You (states) can advise people not to watch the movie. We passed an order and our orders required to be complied by all. People can’t come and say law and order problems, ban the movie. Let us not come to a state where the exhibition of a movie, despite certified by the censor board, is crippled.”
