A 47-year-old man was killed after being stabbed on the Westside of Corpus Christi Monday.
Police responded to a call in the 300 block of North Navigation about 2:30 p.m. where they found a man who had just been stabbed.
Lt. Chris Hooper said there were several witnesses in the area that told police the incident had just occurred.
Hooper declined to disclose what part of his body the victim was stabbed, but said the victim was transported to Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline in serious condition.
The Nueces County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the victim, identified as Benito Trevino, died at the hospital from his injuries.
Police arrested James Anthony Gutierrez, 34, on suspicion of murder. His bail was set at $500,000.
Hooper said police do not know the cause of the assault and the incident is still under investigation.
