BEACH — In a battle of two teams undefeated against regional opponents, the Dickinson Trinity boys basketball team lead throughout the second half, defeating Beach 54-47 on Saturday, Jan. 20 from Beach High School.
Snapping the Buccaneers six-game winning streak, Trinity is now 5-0 in Region 7 play, with four of those wins coming on the road.
Carrying a one-point lead at halftime, the Titans (9-5, 5-0 Region 7) outscored the Bucs (10-2, Region 7 4-1) 17-10 in the third quarter.
Senior forwards Easton Walby and Jacob Kubas led Trinity with 15 and 13 points, respectively. Junior forward Aric Knopik chipped in with 10 points as eight different Titans scored.
Beach sophomore forward Gage Swanson scored a game-high 22 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Senior center Gunnar Farstveet added 11 points.
