Junior guard Lilly Morningstar’s last-second layup helped Hopkinton (9-3) come back to beat Foxboro, 55-54, in a non-league girls basketball contest on Monday.

Morningstar had a team-high 15 points and her basket with five seconds left netted the Hillers their first lead of the game.

Senior forward Regan Keavaney tallied 14 points and senior forward Ivy Gogolin added 12 points in the win.

“We rebounded the ball and called a timeout with five seconds left in the game,” Hopkinton coach Mike Greco said. “We called a play for Lilly and she made a great hesitation dribble that opened a lane for her to drive to the hoop for the game-winning layup.”

Hopkinton visits Newton South on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

DEDHAM 42, DOVER-SHERBORN 32: Senior forward Lizzy Jenkins scored 10 points and played strong defense for Dover-Sherborn (2-8, 1-7 TVL) but the Raiders fell to Dedham in a Tri-Valley League matchup.

D-S sophomore center Olivia Collins added 10 points and played an aggressive game in the paint in the loss.

D-S next visits Millis on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

HOPEDALE 44, NORTH BROOKFIELD 23: Bri Frongilo had 11 points for Hopedale (5-5) in a non-league victory at North Brookfield.

Piper Hampsch scored eight points, Meghan Holt had eight rebounds and Rachel Rizzo had five rebounds for the Blue Raiders.

Hopedale led 22-9 at the half.

Hopedale hosts Nipmuc on Wednesday in a Dual Valley Conference game at 6:30 p.m.

TRI-COUNTY 52, HOLBROOK 40: Jena Johnson and Tori Maynard each scored 11 points as Tri-County (2-5) rallied in the second half for a comeback win over visiting Holbrook in non-league game.

Abby DiFloures had five points and eight rebounds, and Sam Schweitzer had eight and seven rebounds in the win for the Cougars.

Tri-County trailed 30-25 at the half before rallying with a 15-2 run in the third quarter.

Tri-County hosts Diman Voke on Wednesday in a Mayflower Large game at 5 p.m.

VALLEY TECH 60, NASHOBA TECH 7: Erin Fraine scored 12 points and had seven assists and Valley Tech (10-0, 9-0 CAL) romped past Nashoba Tech in a Colonial Athletic League game.

Gabby Muscatell also scored 12 points, and Lyndsay Morse and Victoria Russian had eight points apiece for the Beavers, who led 32-3 at the half.

BRAINTREE 54, NATICK 45: Junior guard Claire Gaziano scored 14 points and played strong defense for Natick (8-3) but the Redhawks fell to Braintree in a non-league matchup.

Natick junior guard Mia Grundberg tallied seven points and 10 rebounds, and played tight defense in the loss.

Natick trailed 22-21 at halftime and 37-31 after three quarters.

“We played a good defense and kept it close for most of the game,” Natick coach Dan Hinnenkamp said. “But Braintree opened up a six-point lead in the third and hit their free throws at the end and won it.”

Natick next visits Framingham on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Boys Basketball

NATICK 58, WEYMOUTH 52: Senior forward Will Brodnitzki scored a team-high 24 points to lead Natick (8-3) to a win over Weymouth in a non-league matchup.

Senior guard Sho Kinugawa tallied 14 points and senior guard Peter Ryan added eight points in the victory.

Natick trailed 26-21 at halftime but outscored Weymouth 23-12 in the third quarter.

Natick visits Framingham on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

WAYLAND 70, COMMUNITY ACADEMY OF SCIENCE AND HEALTH 49: Senior guard Oliver Moody tallied 18 points to lead Wayland (4-8) to a victory over non-league opponent Community Academy of Science and Health.

Warriors sophomore guard Jaden Brewington scored 10 points and senior forward Ben Bourget added nine points in the win.

The Warriors led 32-21 at halftime and 62-33 after three quarters.

Wayland visits Concord-Carlisle on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

TRI-COUNTY 64, BRISTOL AGGIE 38: Senior Scott Saunders led all scorers with a career-high 22 points to go with five steals and four assists as Tri-County (3-7) toppled Bristol Aggie in a non-league matchup.

“Scott was on fire from the start,” Tri-county coach Bill Cannon said. “From the opening tip-off through the rest of the game, Scott was on top of his game.”

Tri-County next visits Diman Voke on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Boys Hockey

OLIVER AMES 3, WELLESLEY 2: John Woernle and Drew Cohen scored a goal each for Wellesley (8-1-3) but Oliver Ames rallied in the third period to edge the previously unbeaten Raiders in a non-league game at Babson College.

After a scoreless first period, Oliver Ames took a 1-0 lead 2:40 into the second. Cohen tied it moments later for the Raiders. With 1:30 left in the second, Woernle scored to give Wellesley a 2-1 lead heading into the third.

Oliver Ames tied it midway through the third before scoring the winning goal with 1:45 left in the game.

Wellesley plays Needham at Babson in a Bay State Conference game on Wednesday at 7:45 p.m.

ALGONQUIN 4, NASHOBA 4: Jack Shemligian scored his first career goal to help Algonquin (6-2-2) earn a tie with Nashoba in a non-league contest.

Sean Prendergast and Jack Thibodeau also scored goals for the Tomahawks.

Algonquin next visits Wachusett on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m.

NORTHBRIDGE-NIPMUC-SUTTON-UXBRIDGE 5, FITCHBURG 3: Matt McGreevy scored two goals and Mike Wells had three assists to lead the Northbridge co-op team (6-6, 5-1 RC) past host Fitchburg in a Russell Conference game at the Wallace Civic Center.

Corey Hazzard and Nolan Brown each had a goal and assist for the Rams.

MILFORD 74, STOUGHTON 49: Junior captain Gianni Pannol finished first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55:96 and won the 500 freestyle (6:22.81) to lead Milford (4-3, 4-0 Hock) to a victory over Hockomock League foe Stoughton.

Scarlet Hawks freshman Aiden Macdonald placed first in the 100 butterfly (1:03.27) while sophomore Jake Desmond took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:17.86) in the win.

Milford sophomore Ted Stearns won the 100 freestyle (2:24.55) and freshman Joshua Kravets finished first in the 200 individual medley (2:31.58)

Milford next hosts North Attleborough on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

NATICK 59, CATHOLIC MEMORIAL 40: Sophomore Ian Arnold finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.28 and won the 100 freestyle (51.19) to help Natick (10-0) defeat non-league foe Catholic Memorial.

Freshman Antonio Arena placed first in the 500 freestyle (5:25.88) and won the 100 backstroke (1:01.19), while junior Kyle Burati took first in the diving event with a score of 214.6 for the Redhawks.

Natick next visits Framingham on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

MILFORD 93, STOUGHTON 68: Senior captain Alexa Lanchisi took first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:08.72 and finished first in the 100 butterfly (1:06.78) to help Milford (4-3, 4-0 Hock) defeat Hockomock League rival Stoughton.

Junior Elena BonTempo placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:28.87) and senior captain Amber Stearns won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:19.72 for the Scarlet Hawks.

Milford next hosts North Attleborough on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
