Motorcycle club, Make-A-Wish gives Guernsey County girl the ride of her life

For years, 11-year-old Isabella "Bella" Bertubin has dreamt of being able to ride with her dad on his Harley Davidson Lowrider.

Due to being diagnosed with epilepsy as an infant, the daughter of Brad Bertubin and Alexe Monday is unable to ride on the back. Her only hope to making the dream a reality was to have a sidecar. Thanks to The Femme Fatales, a women’s motorcycle club and the Make-A-Wish foundation, she is now set to ride off into the sunset with her dad.

The Femme Fatales is an all women’s motorcycle club that was founded in 2011. The group is bonded on their love of riding motorcycles, giving back to the community and empowering women. Their main focus is to support women and children in their communities. They have chapters throughout the United States.

On a Saturday, late in November, local bikers, friends and family came together to help reveal Bella’s surprise: A custom-painted sidecar. The sidecar was designed to match her dad’s motorcycle. Members of The Femme Fatales and other local bikers escorted Bella through town on her first-ever motorcycle ride.

"She really seemed to enjoy herself in the sidecar as we rode through town," said her dad. "She liked the fast speed and the loud noise of the bikes."

Bella and her dad plan to ride as often as possible this summer.
