Microsoft's Xbox One X, which was announced globally back in June at the E3 event, has now been announced in India on 23 January. The console, which is the next iteration to the Xbox One, will be priced at Rs 44,900. The console will be sold online and offline retail outlets starting today.

The Xbox One X will run on an 8-core AMD CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz, a GPU that’s rated at 6 TFLOPS, 12 GB of GDDR5 RAM and a 1 TB HDD. This happens to be a huge bump in performance over the original Xbox One and about 50 percent more power than competitor PS4 Pro by Sony.

The massive computational power enables the One X to run 4K games at 60 fps. As of right now there is no VR support offered on the Xbox One X as opposed to the PS4 Pro, where a VR kit can be purchased separately.

The games available currently include Forza Motorsport 7, Super Lucky’s Tale, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and FIFA 18. The games have been updated to support the new capabilities including 4K UHD and HDR capabilities. Also, many of the games on the Xbox One will be getting free updates so that they can run easily on the Xbox One X.

"Xbox One X was designed to be the best console to create and play games on, putting the greatest graphics fidelity in the hands of the world’s best game creators to create true 4K games," Microsoft said in a post.
