MANCHESTER - A Massabesic Street resident was charged with criminal threatening and possession of a dangerous weapon after becoming involved in an argument his father was having with some tree-removal workers Monday morning, police said.
The argument started about 7:30 a.m., police said, when a first-floor tenant of 141 Massabesic St. argued with workers from a tree company who had been hired by the building owner and were setting up outside the apartment house.
The tenant's son, Joseph Fernald, 22, became involved in the argument and allegedly pointed a black handgun at the tree-service foreman, who called police, according to a release.
Fernald was arrested after officers found two sets of brass knuckles in his pockets and a black BB gun inside the apartment, police said.
Fernald was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and was scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court Feb. 1.
