Mumbai: Students of LL.M. (Master of Law) course are relieved as they can apply for first semester examinations along with the second semester. The Bombay High Court (HC) on Monday issued an order allowing students to appear for examination later as the examination is scheduled to begin from January 23 and students do not have enough time for preparation.

A petition was filed by LL.M. student Imran Khan stating lack of time for preparation for the first semester university examinations commencing from January 23. Students stated their admissions for LL.M. course were delayed and continued till January 10. The Mumbai University (MU) scheduled its first semester examinations for these students on January 23 which gave students less time for preparation. Students could not cope up with the portion and approached the court against the MU. As per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Bar Council there should be a provision of 90 academic days before examination.
