A. Doris Vaughn, 94, of Manito, passed away at Mason City Area Nursing Home on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at 11:19 p.m. She was born on Aug. 24, 1923, in Illimo, Mo., the daughter of Jones C. and Mattie (Baker) Allen. She married Harold Vaughn on Oct. 5, 1943, in San Francisco, Calif. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Doris is survived by one daughter, Carol (Vernon) Stellberg of Richardson, Texas; four grandchildren, Leanne (Glen) Folse, Brent (Ellen) Stellburg, Michelle Martin, and Sara (Robbie) Golden; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one daughter, Brenda Snider; and two sisters.
Doris was a member of the Assembly of God Faith Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed her home, her yardwork, driving her John Deere Tractor, but most of all her family.
A funeral service will be held for Doris on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at Maas Hurley Funeral Home in Manito, at 10 a.m. Visitation will also be held at the funeral home prior to services from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The Rev. John Worsham will officiate. Burial will follow at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
