National Consumer Rights Protection Department fined over Tk 1 lakh in 22 days of Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) on charge of selling things in additional price, false advertisement, tricking during weighing things.
According to law, National Consumer Rights Protection Department authorities gave Tk 29,000 to complainant.
The consumers filed 24 complains against Haji Biriyani, Haji Biriyani and Kebab House, Mithai. Among the complains four were not proved, five were solved over mutual understading between two groups and fined against 15 as complains were proved.
Investigation is on against four others complains.
Researcher assistant director Pramot Kumar Pramanik said the consumers get good facilities than last year through complains. The number of complains is decreasing this year.
"We gave 25 percent money over fined taka to consumers as reward after proving their complains till now," Pramot Kumar said.
