The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host a pair of project update meetings Monday at the Duluth Folk School on plans to reconstruct the Twin Ports Interchange.
The meetings will be held in two identical sessions from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 6-7 p.m. Short, formal presentations will be given at 11:45 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.
The Twin Ports Interchange runs through the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Duluth and is also known locally as the can of worms. It’s where Interstate 35 meets I-535 and U.S. Highway 53 in a series of curving ramps and elevated freeway that is characterized by cumbersome merges and yields for drivers.
The interchange is scheduled to be reconstructed as part of a multi-year, $205 million project.
The meeting is expected to provide the public an opportunity to view the latest concepts and learn more about the proposed project, said a MnDOT news release.
The Duluth Folk School is located at 1917 W. Superior St.
