Here is a rundown of action taken Monday night by the Terrebonne Parish Council during special and committee meetings. All votes were unanimous unless otherwise noted. Parish President Gory Dove was absent.

SPECIAL MEETING

ACTION: Condemned 825 Community St., Houma.

PUBLIC SERVICE COMMITEE

ACTION: Authorized the parish president to execute a contract with Jessica Price, DVM for professional veterinary services.

ACTION: Approved the purchase of three diesel generators from Arcco Power Systems for the Houma Generating Station project.

ACTION: Approved a contract for phase IV of drainage improvements to Honeysuckle Drive.

ACTION: Approved Parish President Gordon Dove’s appointment of GIS Engineering LLC to provide engineering services for the Martin Luther King Sanitary Sewer Project.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNING COMMITTEE 

ACTION: Authorized a subgrantee agreement for additional funds to build the east-side safe room.

BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEE 

ACTION: Approved the service contract for mowing and maintenance of parish boulevards to Green Scapes of Louisiana, Inc.

ACTION: Amended the 2018 adopted operating budget and the five-year capital outlay budget and set a public hearing for Feb. 7 for the following items:

$234,168 for the east-side safe room $95,284 for the Emergency Operations Center safe room $500 for downtown development $65,000 for courthouse elevator repair $121,000 for government tower chillers $500 for Houma Police Department $40,000 for the animal shelter $18,000 for customer service $41,437 for Prospect Blvd. sidewalks $91,748 for La. 24 sidewalk $46,083 for Civic Center sidewalk $3,300,000 credit for Falgout Canal Freshwater enhancement $62,360 credit for Terrebonne Parish Port Commission generator

POLICY, PROCEDURE AND LEGAL COMMITTEE

ACTION: Approved a co-sponsorship request from the Foundation for Terrebonne General Medical Center for the Night Light Das event Feb. 24.

ACTION: Approved a co-sponsorship request from The Haven for its Home is Where the Heart is annual spring gala March 17.

ACTION: Approved the annual fire dispatch agreement with the Terrebonne Parish Communications District and the City of Houma Fire Department for the cost of dispatch services.
