NATIONAL SUMMARY

A potent storm will affect the eastern part of the nation

today. Drenching rain and embedded thunderstorms will extend

from Florida to upstate New York and New England. The rain

will follow ice and snow in northern New England and may

trigger incidents of flash flooding and ice jams. The

snowstorm and blizzard conditions are forecast to wind down

over the Upper Midwest. As chilly air pushes from the

Midwest to the Appalachians, snow showers may extend across

parts of the Ohio Valley. Most areas from the central Gulf
