Fans of Denzel Washington and Mary J. Blige are hoping their favorite actors will get a coveted Academy Award nomination when the 2018 nominees are announced, starting at 8:22 a.m. Tuesday. Come back to lohud.com to see who makes the list.

PREDICTIONS: Who will be in, who will be out

Washington, a Mount Vernon native, should be nominated for his lead role in the film "Roman J. Israel, Esq," while Yonkers-born Blige may be a Best Supporting Actress nominee for "Mudbound." Blige might also be nominated for "Best Original Song," for "Mighty River," which she wrote for the film.

Both actors were nominated, but did not win, Golden Globe and SAG Awards.

"The Post" will also be a multiple-nominee. The Steven Spielberg directed drama about the publishing of the Pentagon Papers by the Washington Post was largely filmed in Westchester County.

Nominations in all 24 categories will be announced in a two-part, live presentation via global live stream on Oscar.com. At 8:22 nominees will be announced in cinematography, costume design, film editing, makeup and hairstyling, original score, production design, animated short film, Live Action Short Film, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects.

At 8:38:30 a.m. the nominees will be announced for Actor in a Leading Role, Actor in a Supporting Role, Actress in a Leading Role, Actress in a Supporting Role, Animated Feature Film, Directing, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Foreign Language Film, Original Song, Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay and Original Screenplay.

The Oscars will be televised on March 4, at 8 p.m. on ABC-TV.
