University of South Carolina track & field senior Ncincilili Titi now holds the fastest indoor 200-meter time in the world this season, according to the International Association of Athletics Federations. Titi ran a time of 20.45 Saturday in Clemson, and the mark topped the international leaderboard released Monday by the IAAF. Titi’s performance has historical ramifications beyond just this season. It’s the second-fastest indoor 200 time achieved by an African sprinter in world history, trailing only the world record of 19.92 run by Namibia’s Frank Fredericks in 1996.

USC UPSTATE: Head men’s tennis coach Oliver Trittenwein announced that his team will play 23 matches during the 2018 season including 11 to be played at the USC Upstate Tennis Complex. The opening two matches are at home this weekend as the Spartans begin their season on Friday and Saturday against Eastern Washington and Appalachian State. Both matches will begin at noon.
