Imphal, January 22 2018: Punjab National Bank (PNB) won the 8th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship (B Division) 2018, beating Canara Bank 2-0 Sukhjeet Singh of PNB scored the first goal in the 38th minute during the third quarter of the match followed by the second goal from Dalal Satender in the 57th minute of the fourth quarter .

Gracing the closing function of the championship as chief guest held at Khuman Lampak Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal today, Education, Labour & Employment Minister Thokchom Radheshyam said that Manipur has produced many Olympians including hockey players.

He also congratulated Hockey India and Manipur Hockey for successfully organizing the championship.

Further, he also appealed Hockey India to provide such opportunity in future to organize such championships in the State so that the State can groom brilliant players who will represent India in future.

The closing ceremony was attended by MLA Kshetrigao AC, N Indrajit, MLA Sekmai AC, H Dingo, Director, Youth Affairs & Sports N Praveen Singh, Treasurer, Hockey India, Tapan Kumar Das, Managing Director, Babina Health Care & Ind Pvt Ltd Dr Th Dhabali Singh, officials of Hockey India and Manipur Hockey.
