Work on redeveloping the waterfront will mean a road closure that is expected to last into spring.
It will take place on Roeder Avenue/West Chestnut Street between Central Avenue and Bay Street beginning Jan. 29, according to a news release from the city. That area will be closed 24-hours a day and last up to 10 weeks. Traffic will be detoured using Holly Street.
The reason for the closure is so crews can connect Roeder Avenue with Granary Avenue, the new road being built on the waterfront district. Work will include putting in public utilities, landscaping and street lighting.
