Police managed to locate a stolen car after a man reported a woman he met scammed him and took his money, keys and car, with the help of an armed accomplice.
The man told police at 5:33 a.m. Jan. 14 that a woman had "set him up" while he was staying at a hotel in the 2000 block of Brice Road. He said a black man with dreadlocks came into the room armed with a gun, then he and the woman fled the building with the victim's money and keys. They also stole the victim's black Cadillac.
Police were able to track the car because of its OnStar system, which put an engine block on the car. It was tracked to the 6300 block of Rippery Circle, where it was recovered, according to the police report.
The woman was described as wearing a red leather jacket. The man was wearing a black hoodie, gray sweatpants and black Michael Jordan shoes.
