As a Lakeland resident since 1963, I urge and insist that the Munn Park monument and all other references to our history be preserved.

America has a past, just like every other country. Some of that past is admirable and some of it, not so much, but it is our history none the less.

It is not the right of one generation to change the history of a past generation. Our focus should be learning from past mistakes and moving forward.
