Pilgrims of Mukhya Mantri Teerth Darshan Yojana will soon have the opportunity to visit nearby spots along with the main pilgrim spot. As per Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s directions, pilgrims will have the chance to visit Madurai along with Rameshwaram, Tirupati-Shrikalhasti, Dwarka-Somnath, Puri-Gangasagar, Haridwar-Rishikesh, Amritsar-Vaishnodevi and Kashi along with main pilgrim spot Gaya. Yatras will be organised in a package tour of these pilgrim spots.
Under the scheme, pilgrims will be welcomed with garlands-vermilion and a welcome band at the first station. In addition to this, there will be games including ludo, snakes and ladders, carom besides devotional songs and dhol-manjira for entertainment. Details of facilities to be provided to the pilgrims in each bogie of the special train including tea, snacks, water, meals, their quantity and time etc will be displayed clearly.
Besides, qualitative improvement has been made in the menu of meals to be provided to the pilgrims under the Mukhya Mantri Teerth Darshan Yojana. The breakfast includes morning tea/coffee with biscuits, puri-bhaji/cutlet, Idli-Sambar or Medu Vada/Upma/chole-Bhature or Samosa-Pyaz ki Kachori or Bread Pakoda or Aloo Bonda or Dhokla or Sev-Poha. Lunch includes seasonal vegetable or Paneer ki Sabji, Dal Fry or Kadi Pakoda, Paratha/Puri/Roti/Rice or Pulao Papad, pickle and sweet. In the evening tea or coffee with biscuit or namkeen will be provided. Besides at night the pilgrims are being provided with nearly 150 ml badam milk or kesar milk per person.
