Mumbai: The N.M. Joshi Marg police on Monday arrested Ramesh Govani, the owner of the Kamala Mills compound, in connection with the fire that killed 14 people in December.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone III) Virendra Mishra said Mr. Govani was picked up near the Chembur Naka while he was travelling in his car, and taken to the police station.
“Mr. Govani had been out of station for some days, and on Monday, we received information about his whereabouts,” Mr. Mishra said.
He will be produced in the Metropolitan Magistrate's court, Bhoiwada, on Tuesday. He has been booked in a separate case under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act.
