ATLANTA (CBS46) -
One person is dead and several others were injured following a fatal crash on the eastbound lanes of I-20 in Fulton County.
The crash involves five vehicles and has shut down all lanes on the highway at the I-75/85 split. CBS46 is told that one person was killed, at least 10 people were injured and six of those were transported to area hospitals. The extent of those injuries are unknown at this time.
No word on what caused the crash.
GDOT expects the roadway won't reopen until at least 7:30 a.m. Traffic is being diverted onto Lowery Boulevard as a way around the mess.
CBS46 has a crew at the scene and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
Another crash on NB I-85 in Barrow County has shut down the roadway. A crash involving three trucks is blocking all three lanes on the roadway near the intersection with SR 211. No word on when that crash will be cleared or if any injuries have been sustained.
