Ujjain: Goddess Saraswati worshipped on Basant Panchami

Ujjain: School, colleges and temples worshipped Goddess Saraswati on the festival of Basant Panchami, on Monday. MIT Group of Institutes celebrated Basant Panchami at the Mahakal Institute of Technology and Management.
The Goddess of knowledge Saraswati, was worshipped here by vice chairperson of Rashmika cell, Renu Vashishtha, vice-chairman Aditya Vashishtha, director of the institution Vivek Bansod, JN Vyas and VM Shah. The idol of the Goddess was also garlanded. The spokesperson of MIT group stated that the Pooja was attended by Seema Thakkar, Ranjaeet Singh, Mamta Saini and other staff members. Meenal Rathore informed that teachers and students performed cultural programmes to add colour to the celebration.
Alok International School too celebrated Basant Panchami by worshipping Devi Saraswati. Students performed prayers, recited poems and gave information related to this day. This function was solicited by MIT director Vivek Bansod, chairman Alok Vashishtha and administrator Vaishali Bajaj, educational consultant Vivek Paraskar along with all the teachers. On the day of Basant Panchami, Acharya Rammurti Tripathi Vyakhyanmala was inaugurated in the School of studies in Hindi. Former head of Dr Ambedkar Peeth, Shailendra Parashar was the chief guest.
HOD Premlata Chutail, Shailendra Sharma, Sanjay Bais and Jagdish Bairagi were present in the programme, while Jagdish Sharma expressed gratitude. All temples of the city worshipped Goddess Saraswati on account of Basant Panchami. The festival was celebrated in Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple and leaves of the mango tree were offered to Lord Shiva. In the temple of Goddess Harsiddhi, the day was celebrated with devotion. In the premises of the temple, the idol of Goddess Saraswati was worshipped traditionally.
