Columbus police officers were summoned to the 300 block of Tibet Road at 12:39 a.m. Jan. 17 after the residents discovered the home had been burglarized and that $6,000 in cash, among other items, was missing.
The victims said the break-in took place after 1 p.m. Jan. 16. Other items taken include a $40 safe, two birth certificates, two Social Security cards, four credit cards and the keys to a motorcycle valued at $300.
In other recent Clintonville-area police reports:
* A woman said a man spit on her at the intersection of Indianola Avenue and Fallis Road at 2:34 p.m. Jan. 17, reportedly after she informed him that the driver of their COTA bus had contacted police about an assault that happened at a bus stop.
* A $600 gas power washer and a kerosene-heat blower valued at $500 were reported stolen at 1:41 p.m. Jan. 16 from the basement of building in the 500 block of Acton Road. The victim said the equipment was removed after 5 p.m. Jan. 12.
* A representative of a business in the 3600 block of North High Street filed an embezzlement complaint at 11:01 a.m. Jan. 16 after allegedly discovering $630 missing from a safe. According to reports, the cash was removed between 10:06 p.m. Jan. 15 and 9 a.m. Jan. 16.
* Clothing valued at $1,260 reportedly was stolen from a store in the 100 block of Graceland Boulevard at 6:50 p.m. Jan. 12. An employee said the suspects grabbed the items and ran out the door without paying. The employee was able to provide the license number of the car in which they fled, reports said.
* A woman contacted police at 2:50 p.m. Jan. 12 to report discovering a bullet hole in her car that was parked in the 300 block of Mimring Road. An officer observed the damage but did not find a projectile, according to reports.
