The 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' show has filed for film permits in the Port City.

WILMINGTON -- Guy Fieri is coming to town and he’s bringing a camera crew.

The famous chef will be hosting a private dinner Thursday and a breakfast and lunch at the Country Club of Landfall Friday, Jan. 26, as part of a fundraiser for the Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington. But he will also use his trek to the Port City to film scenes for his series, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

Crews for the show, and presumably Fieri himself, will film scenes at Fork n Cork (122 Market St.), Copper Penny (109 Chestnut St.), Something Fishy (3436 S College Road), Sweet n Savory (1611 Pavilion Place) and Ceviche’s (7210 Wrightsville Ave.) Wednesday and Thursday, according to a filming permit filed with the city.

The permit said the filming will involve a “featured chef cooking signature dishes.”

The Food Network series finds Fieri traveling the country, visiting locally well-known restaurants and talking with owners and customers about the eateries. It is not known when the scenes would air.
