The children of Parvarish The Museum School learned about gender equality through a street play. The street play ‘Sab Barabar’ on Monday was staged at Regional Science Centre wherein the students of Parvarish were also present among the audience.
The play which centres the topic of gender equality the play was brilliantly performed. The play is being staged under the Kaafila street plays from January 20 and will continue till January 27. The play began with the song ‘All are equal’ and amazingly the students of Parvarish enthusiastically joined in with the artists and sang the song.
Sab Barabar play removes the distinction between a woman and speaks about gender equality. This street play piece has been produced by the Ansh Happiness Society's drama group Kaafila, directed by young director Sahil Khan.
At Regional Science Centre, the students of Parvarish enjoyed the street play a lot and also joined the artist as they were performing. Conversing lyrically in various songs, the children raised questions about the facts. The characters were further supported by the chorus which with beautiful expressions asked the crowd about their stereotyped thinking.
Dressed alike and with perfect coordination the artists were able to impress the crowd. Through live music and songs, the street play came to an ends. The students as well as the gathering of people highly appreciated these young students artists who raised such a sensitive and serious matter publically to make them aware and stand against it.
Founder of Parvarish the Museum School Shibani Ghosh said, “This kind of play will surely bring change in the mindset of children as well as the elders. Awareness is badly needed and change will follow.”
