After being canceled and then brought back from the dead, we finally know when Timeless will return to NBC. The second season of the drama will premiere on Sunday, March 11 at 10/9c.
Created by Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan, Timeless stars Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter and Malcolm Barrett as a trio who travel through time to protect history from being altered. It was canceled by the network in May, to much fan outrage, before it was renewed for a 10-episode second season three days later.
This near-death experience for the show won't affect the overall storyline or feel of Season 2, however. "Season 2 is matching up very closely to what [creator] Eric [Kripke] and I pitched last March when we were pitching a Season 2," Ryan recently told TV Guide. "So no, I don't think there was any ever creative issues NBC had with the shows, they love the show. There will be some key differences this season to last season, but those are wholly out of Eric and my desire to shake things up a bit and not out of any network or any studio directive to change things."
Timeless will return on Sunday March 11 after a three-hour broadcast of American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. The World.
