One for the thumb.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady authored another storybook finish Sunday, overcoming a painful hand injury suffered during a freak accident in practice.
Brady gutted it out, wearing black tape on his stitched-up throwing hand, to lead the Patriots to a dramatic 24-20 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship.
It was the 54th time Brady had orchestrated a game-winning comeback while trailing in the fourth quarter as the Patriots advanced to the Super Bowl. Despite the discomfort, Brady completed 26 of 38 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns. With Brady at the controls, the Patriots have now won four playoff games when they've trailed by 10 or more points. That's including Super Bowl LI, Super Bowl XLIX and a 2014 AFC divisional-round playoff game. And, now, Brady has a chance to win yet another Super Bowl title.

Get ready to hear those words a lot between now and the Super Bowl.
Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski suffered a concussion and was knocked out of the game on a crushing hit from Jaguars safety Barry Church. The NFL has attempted to upgrade its procedures with the concussion protocol in the wake of Texans quarterback Tom Savage being allowed to go back into the game after being prone on the ground with his arms and hands twitching following a punishing hit from San Francisco 49ers outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil. This figures to be a major plotline before the big game as Gronk is a pivotal figure for the Patriots' offense.

Discarded by the Pittsburgh Steelers in a bitter late-season divorce, venerable Patriots outside linebacker James Harrison got the last laugh. Harrison is back in the Super Bowl.
The 39-year-old pass rusher was difficult to block and disrupted the Jaguars' running game. He finished with three tackles and one quarterback hit, proving he still has a lot of life in his older legs. Meanwhile, the Patriots' big-ticket free agent acquisition made a huge play as cornerback Stephon Gilmore made an acrobatic pass deflection of a Blake Bortles throw on fourth down to put the game away.
