A public visitation for Holly Hamilton, who was killed last week at age 29, is scheduled for Friday.

It will be held at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home on Upper Gage Ave. from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m.

"It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic death of Holly Marie," Hamilton's family said in an online obituary.

A GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral expenses, and for her 4-year-old daughter, had raised more than $18,000 as of Monday afternoon.

Hamilton was stabbed to death last week and her body was found in the trunk of her car trunk of her car in a parking garage in the city's east end.

Hamilton's ex-boyfriend, Justin Dumpfrey, was charged Thursday with second-degree murder. He's expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

Police say there had been a documented history of domestic violence in the couple's relationship.

In a statement released Friday, Hamilton's brother Cass Hamilton lamented the domestic violence that has torn his family apart.

"Holly is at peace now but my family and I along with other families affected by domestic violence will never be," he said.
