Zinc futures rise 0.18% on spot demand

futures today edged 0.18 per cent higher to Rs 219.40 per kg as speculators created positions, triggered by a firm trend in the domestic spot markets on industrial demand. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, for delivery in current month moved up by 40 paise, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 219.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 554 lots. The for delivery in March also edged higher by a similar margin to trade at Rs 218.80 per kg in a business volume of 35 lots. Marketmen said widening of bets by participants, following improved demand in the domestic spot market, influenced prices in futures trade.
