5 Great Local Burgers

We all have our favorites!

Everyone loves a good burger, right? With so many choices in the Louisville area, we decided to tell you about some of the best burgers in town.

1

Kern’s Korner

Looking for a good old-fashioned burger, just plain and delicious, no bells and whistles but full of flavor? Kern’s Korner, yes the bar on Bardstown Road, has one of the best burgers in town. All cooked on the same griddle, the meat is seasoned to perfection and finished with a bun that has been toasted on that griddle as well. Served with a side of chips, and don’t pass up the soup of the day either, this is a perfect lunch. And, you might as well get a cheap cold beer to wash it down with too.

2

Shady Lane Cafe

Next to the Party Mart off Brownsboro Road and Rudy Lane is a small local cafe with a menu that is chock full of great options. But their number one seller is their Brownsboro Burger. Big and juicy, served with whatever you want, this is definitely a meal worth saving up for. Don’t miss the great homemade desserts they have here as well.

3

The Grind

The Grind has a burger so good you could really just eat it plain. It’s all because of the handmade mix of beef that the owners keep secret that keeps the carnivores coming back for more. These burgers are all ⅓ pound and come with great side options: kale salad, brussels sprouts or fries. There are so many great flavor combinations here, you might want to try them all. Side note: their veggie burger is delicious, so it’s not all about carnivores there.

4

Jack Fry's

It’s no shock that one of the best hamburgers in town comes from one of the best restaurants in town. In a sea of fancy entrees and specials, the burger remains steady even though it gets low billing at the bottom of the menu. It’s super thick and juicy, the kind you might want to eat with a knife and a fork if you don’t want to mess up your outfit.

5

Ollie's Trolley

Ollie's Trolley has the cheapest burger on the list, where a fully-loaded burger is less than $3. Served in a paper pocket, where the grease and love just drips through, this is always good and always hits the spot. You have to order the fries with this and be sure to get a side of Ollie sauce to dip it all in.
