Former Union Minister and ex-city MP, Pawan Kumar Bansal on Sunday said that the BJP led Chandigarh Administration needs to pull up its socks to deliver on promises made by BJP leadership to the people in 2014.
In a press statement, Bansal lashed out at the authorities for being helpless spectators to the law and order situation of the city plummeting to a new low and being extremely indifferent to the pressing needs of the people.

And, then while the increase in upper age limit for government jobs was announced with characteristic fanfare, the creation of jobs has been almost nil, Bansal said.
The former MP also expressed his anguish on most of the gyms in community centres are lying closed due to either non-payment of salaries to the instructors or poor maintenance. “What’s the use of building assets from the taxpayers’ money, if they cannot avail the facilities?” he asked.
“Today the Resident Welfare Associations are not being paid the promised funds for the maintenance of sector parks”, he alleged.
On a recent visit to Manimajra Motor market, Bansal noticed its deplorable state. “Dangling electricity wires, absence of police beat box, accumulation of heaps of garbage all around are some of the issues that the shop owners have got tired complaining of,” said the former Minister.
In the address on this Republic Day, the people expect the Administration to be forthright in admitting its abject failure on all counts and lay out a practical road map to remedy the situation in next sixteen months, added he.
