Ambelim proposes to increase house tax

MARGAO: A proposal to increase the house tax to a minimum of Rs 100 was approved at the gram sabha, at Ambelim village panchayat in Salcete on Sunday morning.

Deputy sarpanch Rosario D'Silva told TOI, "It has been proposed to increase the house tax that is presently varying between Rs 35-45 to Rs 100. It was also decided to develop the old internal village roads.Another issue discussed was about segregation of dry and wet garbage before it is collected," D'Silva said.


The sarpanch also said that there was also a discussion about the 12 illegal houses in Vaz waddo which has residents staying there for nine to ten years. The matter is presently being heard by the national green tribunal (NGT) since the past 10 to 15 years."
