Highs will be in the 60s Monday, possibly 70s on Tuesday

Raleigh, N.C. — Unusually mild temperatures greeted the Triangle over the weekend following a snow storm, but Monday and Tuesday will be even warmer.
Temperatures will warm quickly on Monday, rising to the 50s by lunchtime and the 60s by late afternoon. The day will be sunny, with only a few clouds, making for a pleasant start to the week.
According to WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss, Raleigh will see highs in the 60s on Monday, and Tuesday will be even warmer, with highs in the upper 60s.

"We had temperatures in the single digits and low teens last Thursday morning, but we're a long ways from that today, and some of us could reach 70 or higher Tuesday afternoon," said Moss. "We should back to near-normal temperatures, though, for the second half of the week."
A cold front on Tuesday will bring cooler air and some possible rain and thunderstorms to the area. "It remains uncertain if we'll have a threat of severe storms, but there may be some gusty periods late Monday night and Tuesday, perhaps 30 to 40 mph at times," said Moss.

The second half of the work week and the weekend will be cooler, but still mild.
