The much-awaited The Hindu in School Chess Competition 2017 will be held at Army Public School on K. Kamaraj Road on Sunday, January 28.
The event will be held in four categories - Under 9, 11, 13 and 15. There will be a separate one for girls. The entry fee is ₹150 per participant. To register, interested and eligible students may log on to www. thehindu.com/thischess
Over 200 children have already registered for the event. The tournament will be played on Swiss League basis under the latest FIDE Rapid Rules.
The event will be held under the aegis of United Karnataka Chess Association (UKCA). Union Bank of India is the Regional Partner of the event. Army Public School is the Venue Partner. The event is presented by Thyrocare and Arrow Publications is the Knowledge Partner.
