It has been widely reported that Josh McDaniels will be named the Indianapolis Colts coach when his duties as the New England Patriots offensive coordinator conclude for the season.
Of course, Patriots fans want that to last through Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4. They got there as the Patriots beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20 in the AFC Championship game.
New England reached the end zone in the last minute of the first half and trailed 17-10 after three quarters. Tom Brady had completed 17-of-24 passes for 152 yards. In the fourth quarter, Brady went 9-of-14 for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

The Patriots get the ball at the Jaguars 30 with 4:58 to go after a 20-yard punt return by Danny Amendola.
New England gets the ball at its 19-yard line with 6:21 left and down by three points. It goes three-and-out with 5:53 left.
Tom Brady passes 9 yards to Danny Amendola for a touchdown. Jaguars 20, Patriots 17 with 8:44 left.
New England runs a flea-flicker and former Colt Phillip Dorsett makes a 31-yard reception.
The Patriots went with a Danny Amendola passing across the field to Dion Lewis, who gained 22 yards but lost a fumble at the Jacksonville 33.
The Jaguars took a 20-10 lead in the first minute of the quarter. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is out with a head injury suffered in the first half.
Third quarter
There's this.
A lot of Patriots observers don't like the number of screen passes called. They trail 17-10 late in the period.
A suggestion for the second half.
Second quarter
The Patriots drive for a touchdown late in the first half to cut their deficit to 14-10.
And, of course, some snark and spite toward the Colts shows up among the New England faithful.
Another short series results in a punt after New England trails 14-3.
The angst ratches up on a three-and-out.
First quarter
The Patriots used receiver Danny Amendola on a reverse. That got some jeers.
An the opening drive, the Patriots converted a fourth-and-2 play on the way to a Stephen Gostkowski field goal.
