NEW HIRES/PROMOTIONS
• Dr. Joy Durand has joined St. Luke's Physical Medicine & Rehab Associates. Durand earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. She completed a transitional year internship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Minneapolis and her residence at the University of Minnesota Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Program. Durand is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Prior to this position, Durand served as a U.S. Air Force flight surgeon and a staff physician at Gillette Lifetime Specialty Healthcare in the Twin Cities. She continues to serve as an officer in the Minnesota Air National Guard.
• The Lake Superior Zoo welcomes Haley Hedstrom as director of marketing and membership. Hedstrom, an Iron Range native, obtained her bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Minnesota Crookston. Hedstrom worked previously as marketing and guest services manager with Spirit Mountain and marketing and administrative manager with a local appraisal company.
• Kraus-Anderson Construction Company's Duluth office has promoted Dustin Wick to project manager. Wick served as KA's assistant project manager and has worked on K-12 education projects for Duluth Public Schools and Edina Public Schools.
• Integrity Health Network announced that Melissa Larson, vice president of operations and population health, will be serving at interim CEO, as Jeffrey Tucker assumes a leadership position with Marshfield Clinic Health System. Larson has been with the company since 2013 and possesses more than 25 years of experience in health care. In her tenure, she has reduced costs, built revenues and developed and led management decisions that helped expand the network and increase the services it provides members. She played a vital role in forging strategic alliances locally and regionally, including Carlton County Connects, a collaboration fo 10 partners across the care services spectrum with a mission of improving care delivery in Carlton County.
• TCG Accounting, of Duluth and Cloquet, added six new employees. They include:
Jerad Borgschatz, accountant in the Duluth office.
Bonita Martin, business tax specialist in the Duluth office.
Alex French, business development manager in the Duluth and Cloquet office.
Jamie Hopp, business development manager in the Cloquet office.
Rick Friedman, lead bookkeeper and payroll specialist in the Cloquet office.
Tammy Courrege, lead bookkeeper in the Duluth office.
• Tim Luedtke was hired an an ITS I-Support Technician in the Lake Superior College technology division. Luedtke will be responsible for providing front-line support and testing for software, hardware and phones in classrooms, labs and offices. He previously worked at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park as an office administrative assistant and a lead watercraft inspector for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. He has over seven years' experience in information technology. Luedtke earned bachelor's degree in environmental geosciences from the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
• Jordan DeCaro has joined RE/MAX Results as their newest sales executive.
• Ben Funke has become an independent sales executive with RE/MAX Results. Funke has been representing many buyers and sellers since 2011 and has been affiliated with RE/MAX Results for the past two years.
• Moline Machinery LLC, an original equipment manufacturer of the world's largest donut production systems and industrial dough sheeting systems in West Duluth, is pleased to announce the following promotions:
Eric Van Hees was promoted to senior vice president of engineering and system sales. Eric has been with Moline since 1996.
David Moline was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing. David has been with Moline since 2007.
Dan Moline was promoted to vice president of operations. He has been with Moline since 2008.
Kristine Hansen was promoted to senior accountant. Kristine recently completed a master of business administration degree from the College of St. Scholastica. She has been with Moline since 2016.
Travis Fast was promoted to manager of electrical engineering and controls. Travis has been with Moline since 2010.
AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS
• Halvor Lines won second place in their division in National Fleet Safety Awards from The Truckload Carrier's Association. This marks the third consecutive year that Halvor Lines has placed within their division of a North American carrier who has driven 50-99.99 million miles in the previous year. They took first place in 2015 and third place in 2016.

• The Entrepreneur Fund announces that five business owners have completed the organization's ASCeND Leadership Development Program. The program is designed to help like-minded business owners develop their own style of leadership. Participants included Marcy Kernez of Eagles Nest Massage Therapy, Deni Lorenzi of Serenity Tax & Bookkeeping Services, Dan Neff of Lake Superior Art Glass, Mary Stukel of Tortoise and Hare Footwear and Lynn Wisneski of Aero Design and Mfg. NEW BUSINESS/RIBBON CUTTING
• Harbor Pointe Credit Union Board Chair Lisa Mitchel-Krocak cut the ribbon for the new credit union office located in Kenwood Village, 1402 W. Arrowhead Road, Suite 200, on Jan. 16. The grand opening will take place 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
• North Shore Title celebrates its grand opening for their Cloquet office from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday. Ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. The office is located at 1111 Cloquet Avenue, Suite 3.
• TCG Accounting holds a grand opening at their office located at 1804 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet, from 4-7 p.m. Friday. The event includes food by Trapper Pete's, dessert by Amazing Grace Bakery and Cafe, beer from Blacklist Artisan Ales, free chair massages by Tanner Kutzler from Healthsource Duluth, music by Michael Collard of Jet Black Automatic, and artwork on display by Hawk Ridge Art.
• Dr. Kyle Severson, a chiropractor, is opening the Wilderness Wellness Chiropractic in April. He earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and his doctorate in chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University. He completed his clinical externship under a variety of health settings in the Twin Cities. His office will be located at 224 E. Central Entrance Suite C.
